Also I voted no because all the good maps are released to the public, so they can have their awful maps. Modding is about learning and practicing my skills, not playing box maps

also they dont just play box maps. they played 10 other maps in the past 3 or 5 weeks thats not boxed

Conn6or, I know what you are saying and agree with it somewhat. It seems strange to me that someone would essentially advertise a map but then never make it available to the public. I think it's the responsibility of their subscribers to vote with their views which would make the change we all want, but most of their subs have the intelligence of a coconut so wutcha gunu do?

I also agree with Natesmith that those maps are totally throwaway garbage for the most part

Simply put: No. Activision owns all the rights to anything you make for their games (as described in the EULA for the modtools), therefore you can't copyright your creations.

As if hardly anyone here gives a crap about the EULA. Your talking to a community that will gladly steal assets from other CoD games, charge money for said assets(both in raw form and in mods), and then claim they have some special right for said stolen assets to be protected from stealing/modifying.


Not *just* talking about my UGX Mod patch(something I had full right to release), either. People have been complaining about people stealing their stolen assets(weapons, mostly) for years now both in Skype and on the forums.


And, you know, YouTube's copyright system is so easy to abuse its not even funny. If UGX was to do it, I doubt YouTube content creators would be able to fight back.
