Not true. Just because someone has a limited number of posts doesn't mean they just want to just get an early shot at the map. A better way to test it would to set the zombie_cheat to 3 so no zombies spawn, then release the map.
Most bugs could be found this way.

Also, I've mapped for Source and GoldSrc before so I know how to look for geometry and script bugs, but I don't have 100 posts.

I don't think post counts really matter, what does matter is people's mentality
I'd rather someone who watches and posts infrequently with feedback and gives suggestions for improvements than someone who spams worthless posts like 'OMG, when is this out? I want it now, now, NOW!'

Heck I have been back and forth with Activision's Support team and they don't care about stuff we pay for so when modders test and even update their content they're already beyond the realm of 'professionalism'

My advice to all modders, particularly the ones who are recent to the scene, is to get trustworthy and useful testers who will do all they can to break the map - not out of spite but so you can then plug the holes and make the first release, not the 6th [...] as polished as possible

On top of that, try and be realistic, don't attempt to recreate Origins as your 1st map as you'll likely run into a myriad of headache-inducing bugs and it could put you off modding
Keep it relatively simple, preferably not a box map with a bazillion perks and a PP wallbuy...

Make sure that if you do port perks and weapons that they are as accurate as possible in look, sound and feel - been a multitude of maps where feature lists have given the young ones their first boner but come release [unfortunate pun...] you can see they've just grabbed second rate ports and the result is disappointment

Bottom line, get all the pieces right [from all things creative down to proper testers checking everything possible] and the final product will be well-received and the feedback will only encourage progression and even better creations :)

TL;DR? Focus on quality rather than quantity and post counts don't mean as much as many may would lead you to believe
Don't rush, test thoroughly and test everything and you'll go far

OK a little update just to show a little of the 'new' map and to let you guys know this map is still very much alive and well. As I said before it's now based on the MW2 Oil Rig mission, but just to clarify this is not supposed to be a 100% remake but it's pretty damn near (IMO) :P (Note: this is not the finished product and I'm currently mapping my ass off trying to get this finished ASAP)
