I don't think any feature can "ruin" a map really. The lack of feature continuity or lack of features at all perhaps can, but I loved Dales Dock for some unknown reason, and it doesn't even look finished. But the layout, the way you could take advantage of the unfinished spawn glitching, the long shot on the bridge, and the UGX mod with it, made it fun. We just played gun game for 2 hours the other day, the map is easy enough to have fun on it, and screw each other with the zombie spawns, so it was a really good time.

So, a feature on one map may be fun, and on another not so much. Without a good layout to fit the features, any feature could "ruin" the map. Everything has to fit and flow, and be a part of the "theme" of the map.

The only constants for me are things like perks, guns, and doors. Without those options maybe it would ruin the map... and zombies of some kind, or just something to shoot.

If you show that you put your heart and soul into it, then any map cam be good. Actually taking in every detail and considering how they will play out is the best thing you can do. Every little thing brings a map together, even glitches (purposeful or not).

Pretending your lack of skill or effort is a "one window challenge" cliche  ;D

we all know.... its not a "challenge" at all - its "hey wanna kill some zombies using cool guns with absolutely no risk till you get so far in you literally cant kill zombies in time before they pile through"

or if you actually know how to keep a window boarded up without being hit ( which is easy ) you could literally not kill a zombie at all and just permenantly hold the window barrier up ( a "2" window challenge would at least make sense, "5" would make the "most" sense, 4 players - 5 windows )

might as well do a "corridor challenge", with a bunch of traverses leading to the players lol

like a deadly race of hurdles  :D

1) Verruckt/COTD Sprinters. I like the challenge, but are a cunt of a thing to deal with at times :poker:

2) Glitchy Gameplay. When the map has so many bugs that even the zombies want to get away from it

3) Munted Ports. people who port guns to add to their map, but in the end, they are completely munted (the weapons in Stairway to Hell, Alien Defence, Zombie Desert etc.)

4) '1st map so go easy on me please :please:' people. Enough said :poker:

5) People who don't fix the UGX-Mod viewhands before making a map with it. I don't mind the UGX-Mod, but wen i see those viewhands, i feel like i just made my hands out of rough as guts paper mache.

Gotta agree with you there, any one not doing it is just a lazy %&^&wit

several people ive seen have this issue, and i link them to the fix, which is drag drop and done. and i get "meh, ill just leave it, might fix in next map"

it applies across all maps you make with those hands, not doing it is the definition of lazy, and tells the community nothing other than "if im lazy with something this easy to fix, i highly doubt the rest of the map, or future maps will be any better" - its all about your reputation with this stuff. All those who refuse to fix stuff, instantly get a rep for being a lazy buggy mapper with no interest in creating a good product, we quickly catch on and know - right, maps by that guy will just be a waste of time, lets just keep scrolling"  :D.

Within 10 minutes of installing the UGX mod ( over a year ago now ) I went in search, found and installed the fix, and i didnt even have a proper map at that stage, and I was brand new to cod modding and UGX at the time :D
