try make a cylinder same shape/angle as the wooden pole wrapping it around with a blood decal already in use somewhere else along the whole thing making the beam really bloody from all the people hanging up there over the years

There's some flys fx in the root adding fx to it will make it look more bloody and like he was dead for a while and the flys are moving around him.
