why can treyarch make a whole map pack in just 4 months but it takes other mappers years, is it because of the engine or the models or what

Treyarch has a team for everything (gun modelling, animating, making the map, making scripts, making sounds etc) while mappers has to do everything themselves.

(even only making a map takes longer since you have to place every pathnode correctly every spawn every wall weapon etc and to make it correctly it takes obviously longer).

Yeh, wondering how a multi-billion dollar franchise with 100's of experienced employees working to strict deadlines can manage to make maps faster than amateur guys who make maps during their spare time, often single handedly, for no profit at all is a tough one to get your head around I guess...

Also most maps don't take 'years' either...

There was one map that did take one year to finish. Swamp of the Dead I think. Something like that. Really great detail and good map design. Unless we count Requiem that is....

That happens and then in the end just a day before release one employee whose greedier than the rest goes in and messes up the coding. :please: before or after in just patches

This is probably going to be one of the best maps in UGX but i hope it dosn't turn out like Project viking (Lag crazy)

The lag is because your pc is not good enough to run it. Project viking has very good performance considering the amount of features it has i get no framerate issues, compared to Halloween town which i have to run at 200fps for it to look smooth

How would I fix my lag issues?

it wont be lag, its framerate issues, and if you put WAW on safe mode, PV should run fine it does for me
