If that's all it takes to make someone leave then they weren't really committed in the first place. Box maps have always been in the community, it's not like they are anything new.

I do agree with this to a point, i know they are part of the scene (a shit part though) however nothing really decent has come out, we have plenty of awesome looking WIPs but whether any will see the light of day im not sure, no maps have come out on TMG since forever, ZMs maps are all box maps, and a standout map may be released here once in a while but i think till v1.1 drops, the scene wont improve much

I wouldn't say box maps are an issue(atleast not on UGX) IMO. It has more to do with bad weapon ports, badly scripted perks, and other custom features that mappers put into their map.

Again I don't see why anyone would bother letting this affect them personally. As long as you make sure nothing you release yourself is broken then why care if other people's stuff is.

It does affect me personally when i, -personally-, have to delete my game cfg because mappers can't be bothered to test their custom features before release.

Weird how you're the only one who's ever complained on the forum multiple times that you've had to delete your game cfg because of a map. Maybe if you'd remember which dvar it was you could fix it with a seta <> console command or just delete the line from your CFG. Another revolutionary idea for you would be to set your cfg file to read only - but I guess if you did that you'd have nothing left to complain about. Not to mention that the problem has nothing to do with boxmaps - and if that's the biggest way you've been wronged by custom content then I think we just hit a new level of nitpickery.

Seriously, starting shitstorm about community here? Why cant people just put time in their maps and not whine multiple times about one thing that they can easily fix. God damn it, people! You maybe whining about community, but that doesnt help a thing here. Help those, who say they cant map or shit like this. UGX has lots of good people, but some of them dont see further than their map, argh!

You sure? I've seen more then a few people lately who claim they've quit the community and then they show up a week later posting in someone else's topic and pretend like nothing happened.

If you're going to leave, please just leave and be done with it. We don't need these melodramatic threads of people crying over nothing.

Just because I said I was done with mapping for this game and I was leaving, doesn't mean I can't come back and look at stuff and comment.
