visually stunning, but as steviewonder said its a shame you choose to stick to a stock based map with not even PaP and just WaW weapons as it really does limit the maps replayability imo (bit like farm swamp)

Have to agree, even with the detailing and all, the features of the map itself make it less replayable, especially considering that this map is similar to shi no numa, which is a stock map I played over and over again, till I became bored of hearing its name again.

OP, make your map the way YOU want to make it, not the way people tell you to make your map. I, for one, am tired of crappy ported weapons with broken anims, poor sounds, and low texture quality. Especially considering that most ported weapons usually have almost no relation to the setting itself. It'd be bizarre and immersion-breaking to fight WWII IJA soldiers in a WWII swamp village with guns 75 years into the future. And yet a lot of maps still have guns that have no relation to the setting, atmosphere, or time whatsoever.

In my opinion, it'd be a nice touch to add BO1/2 models and textures for some stock weapons, like what Jimmyx did for Sumpf, etc. Still fits setting but looks a bit fresher.

Yeh, it was totally immersion-breaking fighting WW1 soldier zombies in Origins with a Skorpion EVO with a red dot sight ::)

I do agree somewhat with what you said however, but that still doesn't excuse having no PAP, I don't see the logic in that at all, most guns lose effectiveness in the mid 20s at best...:-\ I just don't see the reasoning behind choosing SNN mod over Der Reise style, sure the mapping can be swampy and the zombies can use the anims, etc, but why consciously choose to exclude PAP? Ville help me out here buddy :)

Never said Treyarch did anything right haha. IMO a lot of Treyarch maps are still worse in terms of atmosphere, logical environment design, and general synergy between the weapons, perks, and mapping than what the best of the modding community has to offer.

I don't think that modern weapons are bad on principle for a map. I mean, your Oil Rig looks great, the ports look great, and they fit the theme and design of the map. No problem there whatsoever.

I've just seen too many maps (I don't wanna name names) that literally relied on simply throwing out guns, guns, guns, without paying mind to their actual quality. Or good mapping that's ruined by shitty ports.

I do miss the ye olde days of mapping, before weapon ports, when mappers had to rely on detailing and actual map features/utilities to draw players in. I mean, look at the concept for Dead Sand, or the layout of Totsand/Penguin, or the attention to detail in Farm Swamp. You just don't see that shit anymore.

Anyhow, I can say I definitely agree with you about PaP. It almost always makes sense to add it, unless there's some sort of hidden substitute or whatnot in order to make it a challenge map.

Well origins "was" explained. They found a "mysterious box, powered by element 115 that seemed to grant weapons of mass destruction from the future" - Richtofen ;)

The others were in the appropriate time periods, except for Shangri la, which was in two time periods, but neither explained having weapons there period

I dont agree with a lot of things said on this map. Everyone is saying its a ww1 map and thats why the guns would not fit?

He has not said what time period its in, just said its "Shi no style". Could be a swamp in the year 4000 for all we know lol

Well that's all well and good, but explain to me why there's a Ballista, Remington 870 and Five-Seven on the wall in Origins then? :P

Id agree with that

They have a box they can literally just pull em out of after all lol

Plus the wall weapons dont make much sense anyway (and nor does their made up point currency where killing zombies makes you a millionaire lol), you remove it - but it stays there - it comes "out" of the wall and infinitely replenishes your ammo - Id say even the wall weapons are somehow related to "magic" or element 115, especially as you can also purchase PaPd (element 115) ammo from them ;)

This, my friends, is why Treyarch zombies isn't based upon realism (unlike exo zombies)

Or (and hear me out here coz I know this sounds crazy :D) Treyarch have a limit on how many guns they can have in the game, but still wanted to cover older eras in the zombie maps, so they added a couple custom new guns to fit the period (RNMA, M1927, Mauser, etc) and then reused the MP/SP BO2 guns for the rest. Then made up some bullshit about 'time travelling portal opening mystery boxes' to half-assedly explain the seemingly random futuristic weapons turning up in Prohibition or WW1 era (completely forgetting about the wall weapons) :P

Anyway, the overall point being; this map could have non-WAW guns and still be totally immersive and not detract from the theme Ville is going for, I'm not talking about AW futuristic, but maybe a few BO1 guns, the old style BO2 guns, etc. (And for the love of God at least a PAP machine :fuuu:) I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but this is probably the best looking WIP out there atm, and I don't want it to be brushed under the carpet because the mod is well...boring... :-\

I think we should find a kidnap a Treyarch employee and get the truth, maybe well even end up with the guy responsible lol  :rainbow:
