Hello there! Welcome to my little tutorial on fixing your doubled up Pack-a-Punch!


So first we are going to start with the files I've included.

Go ahead and open the "FILES TO PUT INTO RAW" folder.

Drag the "fx" folder into "raw" (WaW>raw) in the root directory.

After that is completed, open the "FILES TO PUT INTO YOUR MOD" folder.

Drag the "fx" folder into your map names mod folder (WaW>mods>MAPNAME).

Now on to the technical part.

You will need your "MAPNAME_fx.gsc" file and your "_zombiemode_perks.gsc" file.

If you do not have either, search for them in the search box in your raw folder.

In "MAPNAME_fx.gsc":

Find this line

	level._effect["zombie_packapunch"]		            = loadfx("maps/zombie/fx_zombie_packapunch");

Replace the whole line with

	level._effect["zombie_packapunch"]		            = loadfx("maps/zombie/fx_zombie_packapunch_mjpw");

Save and throw it into your "maps" folder in your mod.

In "_zombiemode_perks.gsc":

Find this line

	level._effect["packapunch_fx"] = loadfx("maps/zombie/fx_zombie_packapunch");

Replace the whole line with

	level._effect["packapunch_fx"] = loadfx("maps/zombie/fx_zombie_packapunch_mjpw");

Save and throw it into your "maps" folder in your mod.

Edging closer to the end go onto "Launcher" and click your "Mod Builder" tab.

Put this into your mod.csv

fx,maps/zombie/fx_zombie_packapunch_mjpw

Make sure you have ticked the added FX files on the right IWD list and click "Build MOD" then re-compile your map.

There you have it! All finished!

I like how you didnt modify raw file for this, even though it would have been easier to just open FX, remove model segment and save, lol

Most people dont know how to use the FX editor and sometimes its a pain. I just didnt want to replace the original file but whatever. Ill update this when I get home tonight on how to do it that way as well.

it's always nice to keep the original files laying around in case your modified ones mess the whole thing up.

i'm sure this'll come in handy to newer mappers!

Wow someone else knows that this happens too, awesome. I am assuming that 3arc was sizing up the fx in effects editor by adding the model for reference, and they forgot to take it out lol. I fixed this a while ago but I'm glad that other's will have a chance to fix it too.

agree thats how i did mine also. as for MJPWGaming thats not a bad alternative good thinking  ;)
