If you had to put a ratio to the amount of hours spent mapping/modding or browsing the forum VS time actually playing the game, what would you say?

For me it is easily 10:1
10 hours browsing or modding for every 1 hour of playing
How about you?

When I started off with Custom Zombies in April 2015, I played it alot. Over the time I'm now up to 100 hours on steam, but that's only on Steam. I used to play the CD Version of WaW (I now have both :gusta: ), so in total I must have summed it up to 250-300 hours online. Played it alot. September comes, I decide, fuck it: let's try to make a map. I was horrific, but active on the forum. :please: Since then, I don't play too much. When I do, it's either beta tests, or highly anticipated maps, such as Project C. Back then, I was 10:1, but now, it's more like 1:10 :please:

I play games Friday and Saturday night with friends, and any other day I'm on my pc I'm using cod mod tools. But on the weekends I only play cod like once or twice a month, if that.

So gaming I'm closer to 3:1, but cod playing versus modding is more like 12:1 or more on weeks I actually get time to get on.

I like modding more than playing anymore, partly because I don't like where games are going. It happens as you get older.  :'(    Most games seem to be going the route of pay for the best stuff, especially free to plays, or spend your life on this game, and those are actually the reasons I continue do this instead of gaming much anymore.

Do we count in testing the map in-game? :please:

Playing time in my case would be definitely way higher than my BO3 play time (220h as of now). Since 2012, I've played zombies quite a lot, even played the iOS version.

my ps3 time on waw would probably be about 2000 hours, i played it everyday after school with my friends, and my time on radiant would probably be somewhere close to that, and i have about 550 hours on steam, for playing and testing etc

can really make a ratio cause i dont know whether to include my hours on ps3 or not and to tell how many hours i have spent testing rather than playing out of the 500 on steam, its probably like a 4:1 as most of my time on waw is testing, or playing mp

Played CoD on Xbox 360 since 2008. I must've had at least 1000 MP hours each on CoD4, WaW and MW2. Probably over 500 on BO1 too. Stopped playing at that point because it got out of hand, came back to it on PC some time ago. So my ratio would be stupidly high. :please:

I come home from school at 3:30 PM  and get in a call for a while while I model or map until like 9 PM then I spend like 2 hours on Battlefield 4 unless I got homework. On weekends, I spend like 10 AM to 11 PM doing a mixture between all 3 at different times depending on my mood. Overall, I spend like 20 hours mapping, but it's really on-off and like 15 hours working on random models (not including my 1 AM random ideas). I don't spend any time scripting anymore because I'm hoping for BO3 mod tools which will have a different system than WAW and different functions. I don't put anywhere near enough time into mapping, but I'm fine with what I got so far. As long as I don't like drop doing it for a week, I might have a map ready by like August I'm hoping. Not gonna stress myself out too much over a hobby.
