Another question: Are you gonna use the character models from Five in another map of your maps?
Or Dead Ops Arcade Characters? Aw, that be cool to see a dead ops map themed map done right (and in 1st person). It would still be just like any other blops mod map, but with DOA characters, bosses, power-ups, and traps. But at the same time, still have the blops mod weapons and perks. I guess a man can dream right? I might post a topic about this... ;) Btw, there is only one set of viewhands in the DOA files, but anyone could esaly assign MP/SP viewhands to all four characters...

Frostbite Gondola:

The plan is to have a gondola system which will transport players across the map (over top of the frozen river). I had to completely remake half the Summit model for the gondola because it had a huge hole in the side and I had to make the doors by hand since they were just an image on the gondola. After the model was made I made these animations for the doors opening and closing:



Once I get a script working for the actual functionality of the gondola I will upload a test video of that, as I like to keep people informed with my maps :)

I just managed to get Lockdown out of the horrible fx limit for the hundredth time, so I will resume scripting for the easter egg (the mod is basically done though - just have to make an ads animation for the aug since I noticed the aug's scope moves towards the player in black ops yet they anim doesn't do it for some reason).

Black Ops Font:

I know that this was highly requested, and I have tried porting the font myself but nothing seemed to work. The font always seemed to have that alien font look to it (due to the characters not being in their correct spots or the file not reading them correctly). Luckily thebeast2365 was able to help me out on the fonts and we managed to get the black ops font into the mod!





Lots of wins seem to be happening this weekend, lets hope there's more to come ;)

Make sure you test your menu in other aspect ratios/resolutions - I seem to remember seeing some alignment issues when I saw your menu on my 1920x1200 (16:10) screen.

Well I tested all the sizes in world at war before and they all seemed fine. Plus I don't see what alignment issues you could have seeing as the entire thing is just one large image :/

Maybe it was someone else's menu that I'm thinking of then  ??? But yeah if it's one large image then all you need to worry about is how it gets clipped off at the sides, but since you already tested that then I guess my point is null :)

Although, who would play in 640x480?
You should be using what's called the "safearea" to align your menu items. The safe area is a scaled 4:3 box in the center of the menus that is considered "safe" because it will not get cut off no matter what res or aspect ratio the player is using. To align your buttons to that safe area you should use

somewhere in the menu if it's not there already, and then use HORIZONTAL_ALIGN_CENTER_SAFEAREA for the alignment of the rect on your buttons plus an offset to the left on your X position in order to position your buttons correctly in your center box. if you need help ask me on Skype and I'll take a look at your menu file for you.

PS: Probably all of the people here that complain about their low spec PC performance are playing in a 4:3 resolution like 640x480 or 800x600.
