Hi guys you may have noticed me asking in chat or elsewhere for assistance with guns for my map . I have tried with no good result to follow many tuts to port and use the guns . Conclusion is unless I get maya working I will unlikely get decent guns myself . I would eventually like to learn maya not to port but to make a new set of guns but I cannot focus on that until I consider this map done.

Some reason if I sidetrack from it . It may take ages to get back on it ( commitments as we all have ) . Once I learn maya I will like to upload custom guns for any one free to use. But I think that is a long path and I do not want to start until this map is finished.

Just need helps with guns and papped only then it is boxed off . Hopefully someone understands my random explanation but I will try nutshell. When I started I had miles more time than I have now. I am concerned to get sidetracked or some other issue to prevent the completion of the map .

Goes without saying help would be appreciated here :)

I have my main map undead overkill , which was released on UGX mod and i would like a stanrard mod too. It is double the size of the first release with more easter eggs etc.

With guns sorted i can release and begin other maps.

I would make a WIPbut it would have a short guns list ;)

My main thing are guns,
I don't know how to map and my script skills are very close to 0.
But I really believe this:
If a map doesn't work fine with WAW weapons and the map is not fun to play with them
it won't work right no matter what weapons You put into

Well i work well in a team and i believe that more skills added to a map will yeild the best possible results. The map is getting detailed and added to while i wait to finalise some weapons.

The weapon set in a map will determine the flow of gameplay in that map , i also recently added the round cap zombies amount recently posted so i want to make it set up for fun but not forever taking games. Having a way to increase the weapons damage to not have it super grinding after a point , but not OP to begin with.

And Harry has been the provider of the best guns i got so far anyway :D ( Can't release the map with 4 guns tho ;) ) I

Maybe i suck for not knowing how to port , but i am more of a believer in skill sets and that we all have different skills.

You don't need to know how to port really, there are tons of maps out there with custom guns and most of them don't even know what Maya is let alone how to port guns with it. Just go to CFG Factory and download some guns easy peasy.

You don't need to know how to port really, there are tons of maps out there with custom guns and most of them don't even know what Maya is let alone how to port guns with it. Just go to CFG Factory and download some guns easy peasy.

I have the packages from there but when i change them to PAP camo they go invisible ( either viewhands are showing but no gun ) or ( as though the gun is not loaded at all ) . After changing the material even for the stock PAP camo from WAW turns them invisible. :(

Then you are changing them wrong. I assume you're using the notepad way (which should work anyway) but you can do it with skin override in assman if you re-export the model with XmodelUtils. Or with Maya but sounds like you don't have it.

Yea i have no maya i got blender but not really sure how to use it to change weapon skins / camo . All the other parts i can do changing the muzzle flash an damage just for some reason not the camo

Which image is for the material ? i searched raw / images for the materal file name and couold not find an image for it anywhere .
If your using the default camo i have no idea, some silver etching thing or something

The "material" name is unique and will not neccesarily match the iwi

for example my camos "material name" is "pap_camo_0"

yet its images are called "_harrybo21_pap_camo_0_c.tga" "_harrybo21_pap_camo_0_n.tga" "_harrybo21_pap_camo_0_s.tga"

so to apply that, in note pad id change the material to "pap_camo_0" then copy these images to my mod

_harrybo21_pap_camo_0_c.iwi
_harrybo21_pap_camo_0_n.iwi
_harrybo21_pap_camo_0_s.iwi


its no good trying to track down a image from a material name, as for all you know, the image its uses is shared with multiple materials, meaning the name "cannot" be. I think you can open a material in notepadd and see what images are assigned to it, but dont hold me to that

If i were you, i would just create a camo to test with, even if its justa bright blue one color image, just till you understand what you are doing
