I know this is most likely such a newbie question, but I havent really worked with texturing too much and was wondering how to place a texture ontop of another texture. An example of what I mean is graffiti on a concrete wall. I have the wall textured, and the graffiti texture converted and everything, now how do I put it on the wall without it replacing the whole wall texture with the graffiti one? Would I make a new brush and make it very thin and place it ontop of it? There must be a less sketchy way of doing that, right?

Thanks :)

The best way to do this would be to use a patch, you can rather create a patch by hand and manually align it to the wall or you can select the fact of the wall and select "Faces to Terrain" to generate a patch directly on that face of the wall. Then just make the patch your graffiti texture and set the patch to non-colliding.

1. Select the face of the wall: Ctrl + Shift + Left click
2. On the top bar select Patch > Faces to Terrain
3. Apply your texture and align the patch where you want it
4. With the patch still selected, right click in the grid view and select "Make Non-Colliding"

Make sure you put grid to smallest and move the patch one unit off wall, since it may bug out sometimes, if its perfectly aligned with wall

If you can't see the texture after doing the steps JBird632 mentioned, try selecting the patch and hit the "S" key and choose Fit or Natural.

Are you using a custom texture, and is it converted correctly?

I've tried everything that's been mentioned, and even tried it with stock textures that come on the game. It's just a transparent patch with a black box around the edges and a line diagnally through it :-\

try inverting it with CTRL + I

also use CTRL + F to "fit" the texture to the patch size
