I don't think this will ever stop (unfortunately), but this is something that has been bothering me for a long time.

I remember several maps (made by different creators) that had the same BO1 weapons. Literally.

I think these guns were available from a "BO1 Gun Pack" that you could put into your map, but they all sucked because they had no camo when upgraded, almost all of them had dual mags, slow reload times, incorrect running animations, etc.

I'm not too sure about MW2, MW3, and Ghosts, but lately, I have been beginning to notice that this trend is continuing with BO2 weapons.

Why does this happen?

Also some people *cough zombiemadness cough* are giving out broken guns to every noob going, and since they don't know how to fix them this results in the mess you're seeing now.

Zombie Madness is to blame for the Black Ops guns pack, with the incorrect animations and damage and stuff. Before the download was taken down, I looked through the pack and all of the guns had the damage set to 40 max and 20 min, with incorrect ammo counts, incorrect fire rate, etc. Some of them didnt even have sounds. Since most noobs who get weapons dont know how to fix them then they just leave them in there and release it anyway.

I'm not sure if it's the same gun pack that I'm thinking of, but here were the weapons that most people had in their maps when they mentioned that it had "BO1" guns (again, these were the broken ones or whatever):

swag lol. and i think people who's only mapping ability is to hollow a box, add them as the only miserable feature in their map.

Most of the really bad ports you see from BO2 these days are also from the same source.

People(not going to name names) have been "donating" to tom to get animations for the BO2 guns again these are people who dont know what the hell they are doing, and they dont know to use maya to properly get the gun model so your left with a broken gun with official anims which wasnt set up properly.

I do like tom for the tools because he has helped the community time and time again but I wish he wouldnt give them to noobs.

Im not sure if this is the cause of all of this, but it certainly played a huge role in it

yup. zombie madness. i dont know how he got his weapons but the stats are messed up, most dont have sounds or notetracks and are missing pap versions. that can explain why people have those weapons without pap versions or they do even crappier paped weapons lol

from people who buyed them lol there has been some problems because people claim that that he gives away guns they paid for. regardless of those reclamations being stupid i think thats the source
