Community Mapper Has released one or more maps to the UGX-Mods community which have been added to the UGX Map Manager.
I'm thinking about upgrading now but my system is kinda weird so I'm not sure whether or not it will actually work.
I've got a 64GB SSD which was too small for the os and all the drivers so I'm using shell link extensions to "outsource" driver backups, not so necessary programs etc. Does anybody have experience on that?

Also, I heard that it could cause problems with the modingtools, is that true?

EDIT: I already downloaded it a while ago and now I get random "reminder" popups which will initiate the upgrade if I click space (so basically everytime I write something it could happen).

I haven't commented on one of the windows 10 topics yet so here is what my experience is:

I did upgrade my wife's pc to 10, and I swear it is 8 in a 7 costume. I do not like it myself. Was better at first, but they keep updating it and causing issues. Her pc screams at me half the time (fan), or media player doesn't work until reboot, or it randomly sleeps while watching a movie. Things "seem" to get worse if it doesn't get it's update fix, like it degrades over time or something like really strange sci-fi movie where the computer is addicted to heroine.

It is not ready yet for frustration-less use, imo. I know people who have reverted since upgrading. I have also heard a mixed bag on the tools working/not working. And have been told the HUNK error behaves differently...

For me it happens a LOT less often, but started happening almost 100% of the time on Elfen's PC, so I guess it's different.
IMO Windows 10 is pretty good and is better optimized than the previous ones.
Also, I'm on a 64GB SSD, had to do a symbolic link on the Windows download folder in order to get it :P
Also, Jammy had some radiant rendering issues on Windows 10 and I can confirm that I had some too, but it's nothing too serious.

Only a 64GB SSD? How do you even have any space left after Windows and its updates? lol

but to answer your question, Windows 10 works fine with Radiant. Used it all the time from my Windows 7 HDD in Windows 10 and never had any issues. Mind you, this was the preview and a fresh install(eventually upgraded to the full) so your results may vary.

If you do have issues, i'd recommend you reinstall .net 4.5(or whatever version your using).

I went back because of the way Microsoft/Windows decided to make it so everytime you booted up your computer, you'd have to type in a password for your email.., plus the longer waiting time for it to start and such.

Might just be me, but I hate how Windows 8 and 10 are.

Set up a PIN code then, that's how I have it.

I want to to type nada in order to access the computer that holds no financial statements, anything that any hacker can get. Is it easy enough to let your users of the OS have an option to completely remove things like that? Not without a program. Another thing is that they also love to sync stuff from your MS Account; stuff you had on a computer that had Win 8 on it. If you don't know, they sync your "contacts," your desktop bg and all that fancy stuff, I don't like fancy.

TL;DR - Windows 10 needs some news features. Right now the things I see that are brand new is Cortana on your computer. This Cortana seems dumb, but whatever.

What's the issue with you having a password protected PC anyway? Always good to have one.

I personally hate it, especially when it starts asking you for one, and you don't have one on that computer. That also happened. It wouldn't let me in. A reboot and an update fixed that. Then it kept going to the sign in screen after the screen saver came on, or just randomly when it felt fuzzy I guess, even though I have all my settings to not require sign in. But now that has stopped and gone back to normal. (I don't use password on this pc because it is connected to the family TV, which we use a little remote for, and I don't feel like typing one in to just watch netflix)

Other issues I didn't mention:

Media player seems to not want to work right most of the time. It goes black screen when I go full screen, then I restart the movie and it works. But I have to do it twice every time. Another annoying thing is it won't hide my task bar. I mean, it does after I restart explorer, then the next time I click the task bar or something on it or I don't know why, it will never auto hide again, until I restart the pc or explorer. I should just have to click off of it for it to auto-hide, like every other auto hide ever, whatever the reason is.

It's just little annoying things like not listening to my settings, that is so frustrating, and I feel like it is always telling me how how I should do things. For what I use this pc for, I hugely regret "upgrading", if you can call it that.

Update:
It took only a whole day to install and I only had to redownload windows 10 once.. like, the whole thing

Except for a few features which feel uncomfortable (you have to right-click the sound icon to access the sound-mixer, which was reset... so much to "you'll keep all your settings") everything seems to work.
I can use the radiant for now and have to re-install the modtools anyways because I had messed them up beforehand.

in my experience i encountered a few thing that made me mad. increased ram usage, random crashes in steam apps. webroot quarantining some of my stuff(which i blamed on win 10 out of rage and stupidity), no windows media player, no applications being able to run because they don't support win 10 yet, having to run many app in win 8 mode just run them slightly faster, cortana using 28 mb of ram in an idle state, etc. but lately ive come too see it better. as new updates get released new bugs appear, but the old bugs get fixed. and as it progresses the new bugs get less annoying, and or only appear when you do certain things that you wouldn't normaly do etc. at first i hated it but im starting too like it. but with any new update make sure you have a backup of you most important documents/files(this does not include porn folders). i think that as time goes on ill enjoy it more.

Then use a local account without a password? You're not forced to use a Microsoft account you know. ::)

And longer waiting time for it to start? Erhm, Windows 8 and especially Windows 10 have had huge improvements in boot times... I used to boot into a functional state on Windows 7 in about 2-3 minutes, Windows 8.1 took that down to about a minute and Windows 10 now boots in 10-20 seconds. None of this was on a clean install.

don't get windows 10 if you have anything remotely private, its just spyware bullshit *tinfoil_hat on*
Bullshit.
  • There's no spyware, just minor data collection to improve the OS.
  • The same data collection along with other things such as killing SecuROM are also being pushed to Windows 7 and 8 so anyone complaining about it on Windows 10 is not gonna do any updates on 7 or 8 I presume?

You people do realise data collection etc also helps improve security? Bugs and security flaws are found faster and a fix will be pushed before anyone can abuse the shit out of it.
