Hi guys , i recently wasted a good few hours transferring my mod to a laptop so i may work on it while on the move.
Once it was all installed i had some errors and fixed them.

But then i thought maybe i could just back up the entire RAW folder instead of installing mod tools each time. Does this method work or has any one any suggestions for a decent back up of mod tools. I am thinking due to ll the extra stuff i have in there to have that back up in one place rather than multiple.

I work with tudark, and personally use TortoiseSVN for a backup, and then we sync things on Google Drive together for ORBIT. I then have three other pc's that I also sync things from Google Drive so I can work on it on the go. Of course I only sync things relevant to my current projects, cause all the tools would be way too large.

I probably have 4 or 5 separate codwaw directories at this point, you can make as many copies as you want. I have an RAR archive of an unmodified fully patched modtools directory that I can extract any time I need a fresh installation to test something on.

SVN is good for version control but it's extremely slow, I've heard Git is the better choice. But for the casual user working alone these are both a total waste of time. Just install WaW on your other computer and then overrwrite the install directory with the one from your desktop at home. The reason to install WaW is just to get the registry keys and appdata folders created + mapped.

Thanks guys , i think i will make some WAW root back ups , the main problem i had was all the models were missing on the second pc , but this way i can work on the map on both mods .

As long as just a copy paste works with the main folder i will go for that ( simplest ) method
