lol why are you talking about reinstalling mod tools? just go to zone_source>english>assetlist. then search your map csv and find there any uneeded fx's the make in the same folder another csv called my_ignore.csv and paste there any uneeded assets just as jei tut said. also remember to add

Code Snippet
Plaintext
ignore,my_ignore,,
to your mod.csv
he already said he commented the FX in MAPNAME.csv, though he didn't say anything about dlc3.csv...
I removed FX from EVERY file in my zone source just to be sure, dlc3, factory, weapons, you name it... However I never looked at the assetlist one JJ said and there are some unneeded fx in there (not that many but maybe enough to take me over the limit idk) however when I try and edit it it tells me access denied?

there fx being called not only from the csv's you mentioned. thats why there the assetlist to know what its included. and also you can see where did the fx was called using the assetinfo csv you think it was magic that my map hasnt hitted up every single limit in waw engine? xD and i told you to add uneeded assets to an ignore. you cant modify the assetlist csv tho modifying it wont change it cause its just a list. you must use ignores

Yeh I know guns have FX, like I said I commented out everything before in my old mod tools in all my csv's for all WAW weapons and fx I didn't need and I never had a problem with the 400fx limit even after adding a ton of custom fx...
OK just tried Bam/Jei's tutorial and same BS, so I guess back to reinstalling the mod tools and pressing converter, GREAT Post Merge: May 01, 2014, 10:22:46 amOK so I reinstalled mod tools, hit converter in launcher, copied over all my stuff, recompiled map and I still get 400fx error So unless anyone has any other ideas (that don't involve reinstalling the mod tools for the 5th time this week) I'm done...

Where did you place the file my_ignore.csv you made? Has to be in zone source i think and did you add the line in the mod.csv in the mod builder? It has to be in zone source. Not zone source/english/assetslist

OK when I use the ugx script placer I have no issues with my map but when I create a map with the gczp scriptplacer I always get the 400 fx error, I have even deleted almost every file in the mod possible to still be able to run it and still get the error. Like I said though if I use the ugx and then add the bo perks its fine
I added the my_ignore.csv in zone_source not zone_source/english/assetlist but then it gives me an error in launcher saying it can't find it ??? Even so, there's not that many FX in there and certainly not enough to make me hit the limit.
Also I already use the UGX script placer (I even made a new map with script placer and just copied over my mod.csv, dlc3_weapons IWD, and scripts and it still gave me the error) so that's not the problem...
I think you guys are missing the point anyway, I shouldn't have to be removing any more FX - this is not Oil Rig (which has quite a lot of custom FX and never hit this 400FX limit on my old mod tools) this is my test map with like 2 extra FX in it - EVERYTHING is already commented out in my zone_source files, like over 100FX or something, this is more than enough to be able to run my map, and like I said I never had an issue with the FX limit before reinstalling.
It is like it's ignoring my zone_source and calling the FX from elsewhere, the key to this is finding where it's getting all these FX from and redirecting back to my zone_source files again....
But since no-one seems to know how to do this or what to look for at this point I'm finished with modding and my map is effectively cancelled...
Edit: this problem is now fixed, still not really any the wiser as to what caused it but as long as it's fixed I don't really care
