Hello so i recently got into map making and i am enjoying a lot
now whilst making my map and when testing it i have come across a few issues

1. for some reason my map is really dark, i have a light grid (im pretty sure its the 'texture' light volume grid?) and i have reflection probes as well and lights placed in various spots around the map. i have read about replacing the skybox but im not sure how to delete it or make a new one.

2. whilst reading ahead on the mapping tuts some people were saying something about an action grid (i think thats what it was called) and they were saying that you can only have one but you can split it up, im not exactly sure how i would do this, if there is a good tut, please let me know :)

ok then, thats all for now, if i have more problems after this i'll just post here instead of making another thread

thanks

1. You need the pink 'light grid volume' texture surrounding your map, aswell as lights to actually give the lighting effect. If the lights give off light then you probably need to change the radius KVP.

2. Thats not an issue in 1.4 scripts and it Should be fine if you make multiple playable areas.

For everything being dark use a light grid sky to surround your light grid volume, that's what I have to do to make foliage and such to have their textures

1. remember that your light grid must be only players height and cover only places where players will go.
and if you mean your map is really dark like theres not even sun, you must put some worldspawn settings that will turn on the sun http://wiki.modsrepository.com/index.php?title=Call_of_Duty_5:_Worldspawn_Settings
tip: to add those just press n while in radiant with nothing selected.
and you need to add the skybox kvp and make one with brushes(just google it im sure youll find how, its easy)

2. and if you meant playable area as daedra said it is just used by the game to spawn power-ups(so they dont spawn outside windows where player cant go)

.-.-.-.-.-.-. :P

ok so the lighting issue is now fixed
i changed the sun colour and brightness and changed the radius of the lights and that fixed it :)

ok new question: i am looking to add UGX mod 1.0.3 to my map and i was wondering at what stage i would have to add it in?
for example, is it too late if i have compiled the map for testing (with the .ff files) just to see how the map looks in W@W? i havent added zombies, weapons etc. yet
i was reading about it and it said that it could not be compiled, im guessing that means in an exe file ready for install?

You can add the UGX Mod at any point thats what I did I had my first map mostly done. I compiled it alot before adding it so you should be good mate.
