Quick question. How do you make light look like they're actually giving off light? Like adding light rays or something coming from a specified point?

Other quick question. Is there a way to make your blend textures double sides like the default chainlink fence? And stop the glitchy stuff when you see another blend texture?                         (Like this)

Spoiler: click to open...

Thanks in advance.

You can use FX for that. There's many tutorials on how to add FX to your map.

Do you mean like "light rays"?

Well there is a texture in radiant called "god_ray" that you can drag to how far away it should light up.

Or you can use fx as Phil said, there are plenty of different light ray fx's you can find in the effect's editor in the light fx in root/raw/fx/env/light/ take a look in the effect's editor so you can see how it looks like ;).

Thanks. Will have a look at those.

Does anyone know how to make blend textures less glitchy. I don't like seeing this kind of shit happening. Like, making them double sided so you don't have to double terrain patches and invert them when making fences ;).

Here's an example:

If Java had true garbage collection, most programs would delete themselves upon execution.

Easiest way to do double-sided patches is to copy the patch with spacebar, then with it still selected do Ctrl+I to invert it. I haven't found a better way so far.
