This is a guide for how to play the custom maps you find on this website. 1) You need Call of Duty: World at War. If you don't have it, you need to buy it. We do not support pirated copies and people often run into problems with them. You can buy the steam version here: BUY CALL OF DUTY WORLD AT WAR FROM STEAM You can also buy the DVD disc version from eBay or Amazon if you like, either will work. If you don't buy the Steam version, you will need to install all game patches up to 1.7. It is recommended to just buy the Steam version. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE DVD PATCHES HERE 2) You need to download the UGX Map Manager. You can download it HERE and read how to use it HERE . Additional maps can be found throughout the releases section. 3) Now you can play the maps you installed in Step 2. To play the maps, either use the Launch menu in the UGX Map Manager or boot your game and click the Mods button from the main menu. Once in the menu you will see a list of maps that have been installed to your mods folder, highlight the mod you would like to play and hit "Launch". Don't fret if after launching the mod it's seems to bring you back to the main menu. You can tell you have a mod launched by clicking "mods" and having an option called "Launch without mods", implying you already have one loaded. 4) If the map has a solo button feel free to click it to begin playing. If not then you are required to use a console command to launch the map. Open the console by pressing the tilde or "~" key, it is located below the Esc button. If no command bar appears at the top of the screen this means you do not have the console enabled, to enable it set "Options & Controls>Game Options>Enable Console" to yes. Once you have the console bar open at the top of the game's window you can type this simple command below and press ENTER to begin playing: Code Snippet Plaintext Copy map *MAPNAME* *MAPNAME* - The name of the map you are looking to play. Ex: Code Snippet Plaintext Copy map nazi_zombie_420 If you have completed the above steps correctly, then congratulations you are playing your first custom zombie map! its ok man it can happen to the best of us 8) i pressed ~ to access the console and it said 1.0.872 so im guessing I'm running 1.0.8 where can I get 1.7 and will that fix my current situation?

New question now that I have 1.7 and the UGX mods works now (thanks guys btw

) How do I get the older maps that are Not in the mod loader to work for solo? maps like Zombie Rich or BaseBall Field 1.0

they should always appear in the "load mod" menu in game

If they dont, then something is wrong

Well they show up just fine in the load mod menu, but I am unable to play the older maps in solo and I am curious how to because I have seen players record solo runs of the older maps pre-UGX mod

UGX mod, will only load, when you load a mod that uses the UGX mod?

To go back to default just hit "load without mods" if you wanna play stock stuff?

If you mean custom maps without the UGX mod, then thats down to the mapper. Some maps have a UGX version and a non-UGX version

Yea im talking about maps that are not in the UGX mod manager, like Dead Sand Elite or Minecraft. Trying to play those solo but having no luck

if by ugx mod manager you mean the "UGX map manager", you simply download the installer, or in some cases they provide a link to the mod folder from the mapper or post

If its the installer just run it

If its the mod folder you need to place it into "C:\USERS\YOUUSER\APPDATA\ACTIVISION\CALLOFDUTY5\MODS"

As long as its in there, it will appear in the "Load Mod" menu within COD.

If it doesnt, then there is a problem with that particular mod

If you mean you hit solo and nothing happens then in the console type "map nazi_zombie_minecraft" or whatever the map is.

i started the map through the UGX map manager but all it does is bring me to the title screen..i can't even find the map in my mods section of the game! can you please help me?

if you download a mod that doesnt come in a installer, then drag it to "C:usersyouruserappdataactivisioncall of duty 5 world at warmods"

Itll then appear in the mod menu, load it there and itll take you back to the title screen. Either start it with the solo button, or if one isnt provided, open the console with ¬

type "/map MAPNAME" (eg. mine is nazi_zombie_castle_briannia, so you would put /map nazi_zombie_castle_britannia)

Can someone please tell me how i can change the folder where the maps are getting saved? I can't get Zombies working. If i launch a map it will show me the title screen everytime. I already did it on a friends PC but can't play custom maps there too. UGX-Maps only... PLEASE help

But if you mean to play the mods, youd create a folder called "mods" in "c:\users\youruser\appdata\activision\call of duty world at war\"

if you mean where is the mods folder when you are making one its in

"c:\programfilesx86\steam\steamapps\common\call of duty world at war\"

or
