This is a guide for how to play the custom maps you find on this website. 1) You need Call of Duty: World at War. If you don't have it, you need to buy it. We do not support pirated copies and people often run into problems with them. You can buy the steam version here: BUY CALL OF DUTY WORLD AT WAR FROM STEAM You can also buy the DVD disc version from eBay or Amazon if you like, either will work. If you don't buy the Steam version, you will need to install all game patches up to 1.7. It is recommended to just buy the Steam version. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE DVD PATCHES HERE 2) You need to download the UGX Map Manager. You can download it HERE and read how to use it HERE . Additional maps can be found throughout the releases section. 3) Now you can play the maps you installed in Step 2. To play the maps, either use the Launch menu in the UGX Map Manager or boot your game and click the Mods button from the main menu. Once in the menu you will see a list of maps that have been installed to your mods folder, highlight the mod you would like to play and hit "Launch". Don't fret if after launching the mod it's seems to bring you back to the main menu. You can tell you have a mod launched by clicking "mods" and having an option called "Launch without mods", implying you already have one loaded. 4) If the map has a solo button feel free to click it to begin playing. If not then you are required to use a console command to launch the map. Open the console by pressing the tilde or "~" key, it is located below the Esc button. If no command bar appears at the top of the screen this means you do not have the console enabled, to enable it set "Options & Controls>Game Options>Enable Console" to yes. Once you have the console bar open at the top of the game's window you can type this simple command below and press ENTER to begin playing: Code Snippet Plaintext Copy map *MAPNAME* *MAPNAME* - The name of the map you are looking to play. Ex: Code Snippet Plaintext Copy map nazi_zombie_420 If you have completed the above steps correctly, then congratulations you are playing your first custom zombie map! Help!! I keep having an error when downloading maps from the UGX Map manager. It says something like Zip Extraction error. Please help because I don't know how to fix this, and if I cant fix it, then I cant play maps with my friends.

I really need help! I downloaded this and it works, but it makes my game go green (like all of it). And I can still play the custom maps, but it's all in green (it works fine for multiplayer and other games). Could someone please help?

Make sure you don't have any loose files in your mods folder.

Hey thereI really love your site and your maps! I would love to play more of them but everytime I try to download the UGX Manager it pops up with a 404 file error.

when i type in the console /map nazi_zombie_themapname nothing happens example /map nazi_zombie_darkwood

I have some sort of steam error when using the map manager. when i try to launch the mod from the UGX map manager thingy, i get an error called steam error, Application error 5:0000065434. I dont know what to do and it was working fine before, so I think i messed up something.

i got problems with some patches

i downloaded all patches , i installed patch 1.1 and patch 1.2 but at patch 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 it tells me that these version of these patches are incompatible with the German release of Call of Duty - World at War what i need to now?

i want to play zombiessssssssssss ;(

Im having trouble using the mods. When i try to launch them, and its in the loading screen, it puts me back to the title screen, saying "server script compile error. Unknown function."

How do i fix this?

I have tried to play a zombie map after downloading it from the UGX map manager. I tried using console to start up the map but it wont start and it says that the mod is active. What do i do.

why do you think there are different versions of the disc? Of course you need a PC copy for the PC VERSION of the game... wow

Ok I'm having a really serious problem, so if anyone can help that would be great! So I downloaded a custom map and it brought me to the setup wizard (or whatever it's called) and I installed the map. At the end, it told me that the map was installed and to play it all I had to do was open WaW and click mods. I opened WaW and clicked mods but the map wasn't there. Please note that I did make a mods folder in WaW. Also note that the map was a .exe file and not a rar file. Thanks to anyone who helps!

the exe is a "installer" that will install the mod "for" you

Make sure to run it as admin and try again
