So a day ago I uploaded a mashup for a friend here on Youtube. I immediately got this email after uploading.

As it turns out, by monetising the video, UMG had un-privatised the video from WMG. Predictions? I believe an all-out record label battle. Sure, I have a copyright strike, but my video is still up. That's nice.

Even though you linked the video on the page its still blocked and MP3 converters dont work. can you try to edit the description for a DL link?

This has been copyright as mash ups do not fall under fair use, I have a few DJ friends who have fallen in this trap and out right lost there channels

copyright can be a bitch, you even need permission sometimes to even modify *remix* a song. this is mainly on mainstream streaming sites such as youtube and soundcloud. its a pain i know...

This is when UMG_MK (Universal Music Group) has blocked all of their content for play on youtube. An easy workaround would be to make a video with a few seconds of the song with a link in the description to a listenable dropbox. As seen working here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTDT8mnih7c I have been able to post new videos of blocked content.
