We are now on the new server and all services should be running again. If your DNS is updated, you will be reading this page right now. Page loading speed should be at least doubled for most users, and once some networking issues are resolved the Map Manager is now serving files at a higher speed than before, depending on your geographical location. We will post more updates when we have them.

Forum Notification Emails are not consistently working at this time. You may need to manually check for replies on the forum until this is fixed.

As some of you already noticed, the chat server is down. It will be up as soon as the server move is done.
Everything should work already on the new server - we just need to verify it ^^

FAQ

Q: Why is UGX Mods moving to another server again?
A: We have multiple reasons for it. More about this soon. ( yeah I know, well answered, right?! :troll: )

Q: How long does it take until I can access the site again?
A: Thats not up to us. We have a new IP for UGX-Mods.com, therefore we need to update the DNS Server. This should take less than 24 hours to take effect for everyone !

Q: Can I still write forum posts / private messages?
A: Yes, until we set the site into maintenance mode. ( we announce this on twitter 15min before it will take effect )

The Map Manager EU mirror will not have any effect if the US server is down because the program still retrieves the official map list from the US server. The mirror choice only affects which server is chosen to retrieve the image and files for the map you click, which will accomplish the goal of downloading from which server is better for you. I did this to avoid having to update the map list on two separate servers  :poker: (laziness strikes again)

So unfortunately due to my lack of foresight when implementing the mirror system, the mirrors do not have any effect if the UGX site (US Server) is down...

I'd fix it now and release an update but 1) I'm not home right now, and 2) I don't expect the downtime to result in a service interruption since we will still have the old server running for at least 24 hours while everyone's DNS updates locally.

So apologies to anyone who cannot download maps in the next 24 hours if any outage occurs.

haha, well actually it isn't effected by the DNS change at all. <3
As the old server will still work and as soon as the DNS change kick in it will use the new server.


The issue just might be, that there could be the rare case that there is an issue with the new server
( If I fu**ed something up )

But yes, it would then effect both mirrors ( unfortunately )

Anyway, there shouldn't be any issue with the MapManager. I just wanted to be sure to avoid any messages from users who can't download / use the MapManager  :please:

If you experience slow download speeds in the Map Manager from the US Mirror, try the EU Mirror. Our US speeds are very low at this time and should be fixed later today.

Map Manager speeds should be normal now. For some you should even see a speed increase, depending on your location and connection.

We know that there is a formatting issue currently with Code Boxes in forum posts - we are working on tracking the problem and should have it fixed soon.

Code Boxes are fixed now - there may be some syntax highlighting quirks (code boxes with no highlighting, certain functions not highlighted, etc) with function names currently... I'm trying to add a special color for CoD5 engine functions and I haven't quite finished it yet.
