only 3-4 zombies at start

on round 1, sometimes 3 zombies spawn, sometimes 4, but not 5 like its suppose to. There are no out of place spawns and I went back to the original character and alias files.

Did you change any of these values:

nope.

round 2 has 10 zombies like its supoose to. I might just manually spawn in extra for round 1. typical mod tools weirdness $:-\$
