I deleted windows 8 i found it almost useless. If you open a file it will just associate that file with the program you first use and gives no option otherwise. It ran my games terribly ( fully updated to 8.1 etc ) And the whole interface was for me unusable. It took ages to boot windows 8 and now i am on 7 it boots up much faster.

To change the associated program you right click it and click properties - again same as any windows lol 

Also WIN 8 uses "fast boot" so it loads the same state it was in previously, did you upgrade to 8 from 7? If so that explains why that feature doesnt work. But on my PC it boots in less than 15 seconds?

But yes the interface is a pain - I agree with that part

I personally don't mind win 8. To me, it's almost the same as win 7 excpet for win 8 tile start menu and the annoying hot corners (All of whigh I disabled). Of course I never had a pic with win 7, I skipped from xp to 8 so I can't really say any more lol.

The laptop came with it preinstalled and it gave me an option to "upgrade" to win 8.1 for free , did the whole process i found it just crap. I had it fully up to dateand it was slow and struggled running games. Windows 7 is smooth. + windows 8 was usig 30 % CPU for what i could see was nothing.

The CPU reading isnt always right, as when nothing is happening windows generates a process called "system idle" to run which reflects on the CPU

In anycase, the requirements for WIN 7 are lower, so if thats working betterfor ya then use that

I prefer 7 anyway, plus 7 has windows DVD maker, which is removed in win 8, and is also removed if you upgrade to 8

Win 8.1 fixes a lot of issues with 8 though. But yeah, I still prefer 7

One more thing WAW ran at 15 - 30 fps on win 8 on this exact same laptop, and on win 7 it got to 150-160. ( i usually play at 60 .) But it is either that bad or i missed something Win 7 ftw
