Okay so I am making a pretty huge map, almost done with the mapping of it but when i go to test it comes up this error. Not sure what it means as i have never got it before? i looked through launcher and got no errors for pathnodes are in solid, or pathnodes have no connections leaving it. Nothing like that but my map still wont load. how can i fix it without deleting all the pathnodes(as that would take ages, got so many rooms and so many pathnodes)

I hate this error. Sometimes it does it if your pathnodes are too close together, sometimes if your begin transfer block doesn't have any nodes leading to it, sometimes if a node is on/in another node, sometimes if your doors don't have dynamic path selected and a node in the middle, and other reasons. If you Google that error you find one good post about it.

is there a limit to how many pathnodes you can have in a map? because i got pathnodes pretty much everywhere in my rooms but they are not touching each other or in solids

Its really high. I just had this problem and had to revert to an older version and redo things. I found out it was something I did with my doors. I found out because when I got to the point of modifying my doors it did it again. Could not figure out why though, I just lived without the doors being modified.

edit: nevermind i was looking at paths, i see nodes here that says 32,773. so thats not the problem

could it also be because the outside area i started noding it, and got halfway done then wanted to test it, without finishing the path noding first?

i got 3000 pathnodes and according to this the max amount is 1666, so not sure what to do, i guess need to shrink the rooms because i still got a whole nother outside area that needs noding

I have 2768 in my latest version I am working on. They don't have to be that close together so maybe you can get it down. I am not sure it is that though. I have found it is usually you copy one and it doesn't get moved and doesn't show when you compile for some reason.

lol that engine limit page is a fail. nodes arent only pathnodes, that meant vehicle, path, traverse etc nodes. the actual limit to PATHNODES is less than 1600 in waw. and btw how the hell did you made 3000 nodeS!!!! my map doesnt have 1000 nodes and its a huge map, not even tmg future has past the 1600 nodes. just make a decent nodes grid with 128 units of separation.

wut o.O you have  2700 pathnodes and waw doesnt gives you any error?

I wasn't getting an error, before my latest issue, and I only added couple since then.

yeah :/ knowing that waw has so many limist you have to make thing the best and more optimized way :/ my map will end up having like 1200 nodes, thats why it wont be bigger x( lol

how many did you had before this?

I added like 10 since the last successful testing. I didn't look how many I had before, I deleted a bunch too, so who knows. I could have had more then, lol.

This will cause it. If your noded areas are separated I noticed it doesn't like that. I have two separate areas and needed to connect them with pathnodes before this error went away when I was initially making it.

How do i find out how many i have?
in radiant press "M" it will opeen a window with a list from the middle to lower part and there you can see your pathnodes, models, etc

I noticed this messed up when i started noding the outside area and didnt finish it, so tomorrow i will try to finish noding the outside area and see if that fixes it

I admit I just skipped over the posts, so I'm sorry if this has already been said.
This error message is usually not because of too many path nodes per se,
but because of too many debris / doors / other things that block AI pathing and enable it via script at a later stage in the game.
