UGX Map Manager v1.3.2 Released

An update has been released for the UGX Map Manager. The new update will download maps from the new download server. If you open an old version of the Map Manager, it will not be able to work at all until March 28th. On March 28th it will be able to detect an update and update itself. If you want to download maps now, download the latest version manually here:

Please report what sort of download speeds you are getting from the new server, and also if you remember, include what speeds you were getting before the server change. I used to get 4mb/s, now I get 900kb/s.

UGX Downloads Server out of Bandwidth Again!

Update 2: The new server has been implemented. Download the v1.3.2 update from the UGX Map Manager thread in order to use the new server. Older versions of the Map Manager will not work until March 28th when the old server bandwidth resets. All downloads have been removed from the old server - you will only get a notification to update to the latest version when you open an older version of the Manager.

Update: We are currently migrating all downloads to a new server. The new server delivers even faster speeds and offers 10 terabytes of bandwidth per month. I will update this post when the migration is complete.

Well it's becoming quite obvious that 2 terabytes is only enough to get us through half a month. It seems like an insane amount of bandwidth for such a short time but when you add it up it really does come out to huge numbers. The UGX-Mods forum alone uses ~50GB of traffic per month, but luckily that's a separate server from the downloads.

Delta and I think we've found a new server that will allow us to serve 10 terabytes per month for a reasonable cost, so we will probably switch to that server tomorrow assuming we don't find any problems with it in the mean time.

Please be patient with us while we work this out - I've received 10's of PMs and emails from people asking why they can't download files or maps, and there's been a flood of people asking in our Chatroom as well.
