There's a limit on pathnodes now? I have only put pathnodes in like 25% of my map

Does this mean I have no choice but to make it smaller?

No it does not has to be the limit of pathnodes. I get this error maybe once per month or less. And that was because I had houndreds of other small errors and became a big error together, so I had to try to remove some of the small errors and then it worked.

So do you have any other errors more than that while it compiles?

in fact it has nothing to do with pathnodes, make a bush covering all your map and right click select all then right click in 3d preview window and select make detail.
that error is caused by having a lot of structural brushes which must be used just for portaling
