G'day all,
I have been looking to finally buy a Laptop that will run Both W@W custom maps and Black Ops at high specs. I know i kind of set a bit of a challenge with the price, but that's all i really have at the moment to spend on Laptop.
Also, before you guys say, 'Just buy a PC', i'm always on the move, so a PC wouldn't help me in this situation.
With kind regards,
JiffyNoodles

Hell no, that isint hard to work with.

There are some really kick ass builds you can get with that kind of money, but since your in AU it will cost a lot to import the parts, if im not mistaken.

If you want a sick build that will run games for the future to come, pick up this nasty build. Will run every current game maxed out and probably for the next few years. If you get that, dont expect dissappointment

You can swap out certain things, such as if you wont want an ssd or if you want a cheaper case, it could save you some cash

The only bad thing about it is the hard drive. From what quick googling i've done it comes with a 1GB 5400 RPM hard drive which is terrible(in terms of RPM). However that may or may not have changed with the newer RC2 version, i can't really find all that much on it.

A Nvidia 970M should definitely be able to play World at War and Black Ops at a solid frame rate. Hell, might even be able to handle 4x MSAA.

Thanks man, but how portable would this be (basically, if i was going to a mates place to chill, how easy would it be to pack up and Store in a bag?)
Let me change that, thanks man, since all i need is a Stay-at-home PC for Gaming and work, with a Small laptop to watch YT and go on social media  ;D

Mate, anything is Better than a Dell XPS 15 (which is what the school gave me :'( ) Plus, i've been eyeing of a Alienware 13 for $1600 AUD, so this is so much better than that, plus the postage wouldn't be too bad (Hopefully).

Keep them coming guys, all the help is appreciated.

Tbh, WaW and BO are not very graphic intensive games. Hell, i'm using a 600$ notebook and they run just fine at medium settings at 1280 x 720 resolution. Of course, if you want highest settings you are gonna wanna drop a bit more on something more geared towards gaming. Also, most new games are very graphics intensive, so just make sure you don't cheap out on something that your gonna want to replace in a year or two when you realize that it is struggling.

The obvious choice would be a desktop, but I can  appreciate the fact that you need mobility, which unfortunately will hike up the price. I would recommend not getting a brand name gaming laptop (ex: alienware) because they are way overpriced and you are literally just paying for the name.

Well, at the end of this year, i'll be without a laptop, since the school want's the one it gave me back. And the only maps that run not to great at the moment are UGX requiem and Project Viking (and Call of the Dead and partially Shangri-la from Black Ops). It's a Dell XPS 15 (which is aimed at solely work, but it can handle some gaming) I just want to get a Laptop that will a) be able to do the things i need to do like word and stuff, and b) to be able to run around 95% of maps in Medium-High Settings with no Major FPS lag.
If that changes they way you guys help me out, then i'm glad i could help you help me.
