You can launch any map you have installed, regardless of  how it was installed. The Manager scans your mods folder.

Just select any map you want in the map list and then press "Download selected map" in the top right corner.

i downloaded a few maps and clicked launch but then they are not appearing in my mods menu, and it isn't opening straight up to them either, problem on my part or the computers? (i re-read the FAQ just to check and see and it appears that I'm doing everything that it says to correctly)

Go to the directory "C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\mods" and see if the folders exist for the maps you downloaded. If they do then you probably haven't installed all the patches if you have the disk version of world at war from v1.1-v1.7. If they don't exist then the map manager probably doesn't have permission to place files there.

When you click launch that just launches the mod, if the map you downloaded doesn't have a start button you will have to go into the console and type "map *MAPNAME*". *MAPNAME* - Stands for the name of the map
