Well I tried to get something done today but unforunately most of my time was spent wiriting a 3 page single spaced study guide for a history midterm I have tomorrow. I start school again this week so it will probably take me all of next week to make the same progress I would make in 2 vacation days. I managed to do some of the button wiring today but there's still a bit of work to be done.

I need to:
Glue the screen in
Wire up all buttons
Install L/R buttons and all switches and plugs
Wire up batteries to motherboard again
Wire up motherboard to screen
Wire up controller to motherboard
Wire up modified memory card slot to controller board (32 wires smaller than a paperclip's diameter)
Glue cartridge slot to back of case (already made it)

Done.

Depends on what kind of tac switches you have. Take a picture of the switch, your wiring to it, and your wiring to the controller board.

The switch is wired properly - I can't see anything else.

You need to provide more pictures of your work so that I can actually tell.

Looks like the wires connected to the controller are shorting out. You stripped way too much off of the wire - you only need a few millimeters. Make sure youre soldering to the correct side of the contacts.
