IDK if many mappers know this or not. But this may be helpful to new and experienced mappers who are not aware of this.

If you press "j" on the key board it disables the wire frame view of the thing you have selected.

For example:

Without pressing "j"



with "j" pressed



This is use-full (well it is for me)  as it is easier to view your terrain patch when your blending things.

Not that useful, since I can see blend just fine with grid in and know where I can/cant blend
