I would give this a go. I also had a lot of fun on Point of Contact.
I think my only issue with it, is that even with a riot shield on, the freaking aliens would slow you down when they would hit you from behind.

I'd love it if it's anything that Ghosts did right it was Extinction. It was non-stop chaos if they would have worked on it and made improvements IN MY OPINION it would have been almost just as great as zombies.
