Hey guys,

I'm looking to build a new custom pc.. Any idea's on the best stuff to get that's out now or coming out soon?..

At the moment im running two custom pc's with the same stuff.. One is for the gaming and the other one is for my music and video editing..

CPU: AMD FX 4100 Quad Core 3.60GHz

RAM: 8GB

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6670 2GB

Reason for a new rig is that my friend is moving to pc and selling his console, so he's buying my gaming one.. This time round im looking to build something a lot faster..

I'm looking for some idea's on the stuff that's out now, if you guys have different to me and what's there ups and downs..

Also money is no matter, so any insane stuff you know of, please link me up..

Cheer's guys

Dan

oh boy, man I wish I could say the same

Unfortunately the only hardware I know is coming up on 2 years old in a few months so I'm not much help. However I can tell you that my PC still runs games on max settings like a champ, and I've spent less than $800 on it and it has a brand new Asus Sabertooth 990FX motherboard.

Here's a list of my hardware if it helps:
Cooler Master HAF-932 Case w/ modded side door and changed front fan.
Asus Sabertooth 990FX motherboard
AMD 3.2Ghz Phenom II X6 1090T Hexacore CPU OC'd to 3.91Ghz
Zalman CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler (don't buy this)
Mushkin 8GB 4GBx2 1333mhz DDR3 RAM in Dual Channel
ATI Radeon HD 6870 1GB XFX Card OC'd to 975Mhz
2x Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200RPM HDD's in RAID0
1x Seagate Barracude 1TB 7200RPM HDD
1x Samsung DVD Drive
4x Cold Cathode Lights (Sound Sensitive) for case lighting

Here's an old video, the case has been modded even more, and the mobo has been changed since then:

Cheer's for the information dude. Great to find out what everyone has and how it runs.. Love the tower and the custom lights that flash.. My tower now is built with lights ( blue and red ) but none flash sadly. Does look good for the music, plus with the switch it's handy to have, nice work.. I have the AeroCool Strike-X Black GT Gaming Tower at the moment, but looking for something a bit smaller and a bit more custom in the design..

Lol mainly because the mrs is paying. Most my wages have been going on the house due to her wanting stuff done. So she's treating me, which can't be bad..

Ill post a topic up when i start receiving some of the stuff and take some pictures of the build to post up and let you guys know how it's all going.. I'm going to have a look at some of the stuff you posted up and also do some browsing to see what i find and ill post them up with the links first to see what you all think, then i can start buying

What you want is an ASUS Rampage IV Extreme motherboard, an i7 3960X running at 4.8GHz, two GTX 690s (quad SLI), 64GB of tri-channel RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, a 1200W power supply, Blu Ray drive, and custom water-cooling. Also go for a nice case, maybe get it custom painted.

This is what I'd do if money were no object :D

Oh and don't forget to set up a nice triple monitor rig like mine:

What are the intels like? I've always stuck to amd.. Really like the look of the asus MOBO, i might take this build the intel way..

Also, nice setup.. Don't think i have the room for 3 screens lol, i have two 32" screens but only used for editing an such

I can't do much here but vow for Intel and nVidia.

Somehow my "old" tech still maxes out most games  :P
