Alright so I have this small issue as I'm unsure how to fix it.

This is a scripting/mapping question sorry not sure which one this belongs in
That is my entity setup for trigger_use at the moment and in game it tells me
to buy raygun for 5000.....which makes sense but I was wondering how to overwrite
 that with the hintstring and price as in game it still only cost 5000

Is this for a weapon? If so your KVPs are wrong, I recommend looking at prefabs for weapons that come with Mod Tools.

Also Hintstring, Cost, etc. is set in _zombiemode_weapons.gsc.

I've done that and it still doesn't work trust me I've been trying, the only thing I could think of of why it wasn't working was because I'm using NSZ weapon set and it might be included in the .ff so I can't change it unless I don't use the .ff which is required for his guns to work.

Seeing as I don't really script I'm sure this is probably the wrong thing but here it is the only thing I've added involving the gun

I highly suggest that you do not use my wonder weapon as a wall buy. There is a reason I did not include it in the chalk drawings.


Is there an issue with having it as a wall buy? It's not just going to be a normal wall buy there's going to be a lot more to it....

3 upgrades are coming hopefully by the end of tomorrow so dont worry about it ;)

But to fix your actual problem: make a new map file. Stamp in one of my wall weapons. Change the targetname of the red box and the model to nsz_ww. Select the trigger and change the upgrade kvp to nsz_ww and the target to nsz_ww.

I could prob be more clear but dont know how to put it any better lol

Seeing to my problem sadly that isn't it I have the wall weapon working in game but no matter what it always says buy raygun for 5000 and only cost 5000 then to test it further I even went and changed the name of the weaponfile to something else but in game it stays how it was.....not really sure what my issue is.

Did you do a full recompile and build mod? Sounds like its not being loaded properly


I did that's why I'm confused I've never had issues like this before.

Check to make sure you are modifying the correct _zombiemode_weapons.gsc and then be sure it is being checked in mod builder in the IWD checklist

Thanks it made me think of the one thing I hadn't considered, It wasn't recompiling your iwd so I went to appdata local and sure enough it made no changes to the files in that one so I copied the one I edited over and boom it worked.

Thanks a bunch it was such a simple issue I was overlooking it
