Hi. I want to change several of the weapons in WAW to match their Resident Evil 4 counterparts. I'm trying to change the Thompson to "Chicago Typewriter" but I get the unknown item error when I load the map in Launcher. Could someone please just do a full tutorial of how to change the weapon name? I have UGX WeaponsEditor++ installed as well. Thanks

I think your problem is something else related.
To help you with renaming the weapon you can do it two ways:
1. Open the weaponfile with notepad
2. Using the UGX WeaponsEditor





Just rename your displayname for results.

If you want to change the thompson with the default camo it's: zombie_thompson
Upgraded / Pack-A-Punched version it's:
zombie_thompson_upgraded

So I did what you said and i managed to change the name of the gun in the HUD and other stuff,
but how about changing the name so when you walk up to the Wall Weapon it shows "Chicago Typewriter" instead of "Thompson."?

Search this in _zombiemode_weapons:

add_zombie_weapon( "zombie_thompson", &"ZOMBIE_WEAPON_THOMPSON_1200", 1200, "", 0 );

Change it to this:

add_zombie_weapon( "zombie_thompson", "Press & hold &&1 to buy Chicago Typewriter [Cost: 1200]",       1200, "", 0 );
