Would it be possible to have a looping .gif (or other video file) as a weapon camo texture  :o  That would be amazing! I've seen moving textures (not scrolling) on maps before ex: Baseball Field 2 (Fanta advertizement, and good luck mapper salute). I don't know if it was a .gif, but it was definitely more than scrolling. Also, the camo on the upgraded flamethrower tube is a white and blue pulsing thing. It doesn't really look like scrolling but maby it is. Any thoughts/help?

Still is a scrolling texture, it depends on the X/Y settings you placed on it.

You can only do static images, nothing "moving"
Interesting the scrolled texture is actually the teleporter material mtl_zombie_teleporter_glow :D

hmmm... just scrounged around bbf2's map files and found a lot of fx. Some with titles witch might refer to a 'moving' fanta and coke advertidement. Could a moving texture be done through fx and if so, could it be applied to a gun?

It won't look great, at all. I wouldn't recommend doing it as it's completely pointless if you're going for a scrolled texture.

pretty sure this wouldnt work with gifs, and if it did, that would destroy your resource count anyway

When these things have been done in other call of duties, they have actually made changes to the engine to support it, any attempt to mimic that will not be very effective im afraid

Not sure how wrapping a gif would even work on a model, its not as simple as it sounds
