Hey guys, I have a quick question on porting models. It seems that foliage models like trees and bushes look fine in Maya but are flat and 2D in the game. The same thing happens to models with hair as well. Is there a different setting in Asset Manager I need to set for those kind of textures? Here is an image:

I tried Blend and they still look the same. The material type is model phong as well.

Where did you get the images from? If they are ported with tom's tools there is a likely hood that his DXT5 removal tool was used in the process, removing any alpha from the image.

Make sure "RemoveDXT5Alpha" under "IPAK" in settings is not checked and then re-export.

I checked it and the box is unchecked, and i re exported it and it looks the same. Should It be checked? The models look fine in maya but once exported they look like the pic above. I also made the texture phong in maya like the comment above.

If there is alpha in maya then you either aren't using the blend setting for blendmode or something is happening to the image in between it being exported and it being imported to the engine. Won't just disappear.

Well I just cant figure it out. I'm not familiar with alpha's and editing images so I've been trying to learn about them but I still cant figure out why this wont work. When I go into Maya and view the model it looks like these two images depending on what view I use.

It looks good to me but just doesn't import like that. I know I have to be missing a simple step somewhere, I'm pretty sure I did what you guys said to do if I understood correctly it just doesn't look right. I have Photoshop as well if I can use that somehow to fix something.
