Have you tried placing some "chalk shadow" around that area?
It blocks all lights so it should work :]

From what i know having water brushes clipping with other brushes/models tends to give problems, try resizing the water brush better? maybe that works

Maybe its because the water brush is in part "outside of the map" where the sun light can still touch it, try to cover all the water (even under) with chalk shadow?

Are you sure that's the sunlight reflecting and not just one of your lights?
Oh sorry, i was still looking at that screen,unfortunatly i need to go, but as soon as i get home ill come up with something else.
Oh on a side note, tried putting a reflection probe near the water surface? maybe that can fix it?

Did you place a new lightgrid volume over the area?
I did indeed, it covers the entire area including down that tunnel.

Make a custom water texture, you can use this .gdt from codmoddd (all credit to him) - https://mega.nz/#!jEYTnbTY!2CGcegcEB_THlaYQxi4BAO8nItn74rceG3nKERvHNpI
Under the water settings you can set 'sun reflection' to 0 (already is in the .gdt) and it should kind of work.
