So i am getting this error when compiling now. which i have never seen before.

Code Snippet
Plaintext
finding index mapping and snapping vertices...
triangulating all windings...
ERROR: TriangulateWindings failed on in map C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Call of Duty World at War\map_source\nazi_zombie_dc.map Entity 0 Brush 1684 at -481 896 2204
code bug: triangulation failed!
Include 'winding.bin' from the cod2map directory in your bug report.

So it gave me the origins of -481 896 2204. i then when back into radiant and made and simple script_struct just so i could give it the origin to see where this error was.

im a little confused on what is happening here?

is there a way to pin point the brush its saying ( brush 1684 )??

Did you use a terrain-patch there?

If yes try changing to the lightmap-mode (shift+L), selecting that patch pressing S and selecting lmap.

No it just popped up in the middle of the "A" just in a void spot. no terrain or normal brushes. do you know if theres a way to pin point out a brush? cuz it said brush 1684 or something was the error but the origin just put me to that random spot in the "A" letter i made

That's strange. You could try to re-create that brush then, maybe it glitched.

Quick question for you. i know you can hide layers when in your layers pop up window in radiant and you can also hide whatever layers so radiant wont compile them. do you know how to do this?

thanks man! So i figured out how to pin point a certain brush while in radiant. and it was just one of the black sides i gave to the "A" letter to give it depth. just compiling right now and it made it past that point so i think im good now. i dont know what to tell you or why it happened. it was just a a normal brush made in grid 2 (2x2 sized brush) with a texture of global black. So i just copy pasted it, re-textured it and now it works..
thanks for always answering my question! and for the vid link!   RESPECT +1

i don't know what causes this error but whenever i get this error i find the brush (In your case it is 1684) and delete it. then i recreate a new bursh to replace that brush. Hopefully that helps.
