World at War Not Launching?

Every time I try to launch WAW it asks if I want to run it in Safe Mode or not and no matter which choice I click it just gives me a black screen in the top left of my monitor. Then afterwards Steam says I'm still playing WAW even when I've gotten rid of it from Task Manager.

run it as admin in compat mode

Could also turn off windows "UAC control"

Tried running as admin and compatibility mode for both Windows 7 and Vista. Neither helped.

How do you turn off UAC control?

open control panel and type UAC in the search bar

Try XP and make sure you actually "have" admin rights

failing that id reinstall the game, or verify the game data through steam if your using the steam version

It's been a little bit since I first posted but I tried turning off UAC and XP neither is helping. Any other suggestions? I've uninstalled as well.

More Info:

I tried the "speaker trick" and turning off dep for WAW and neither helps

\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW\players\profiles\yourname\config.cfg open it up search for r_fullscreen set it to 0 then try again.

Also remove any settings you put on the exe or other shit.
