What ever map I'm playing my game is crashing with this error in console.
Code Snippet
Plaintext
Direct3DDevice9::Present failed: An invalid parameter was passed to the returning function

Currently playing on:
win7 64 ultimate
i5 4210m 2,60 - 3 Ghz
4Gb ddr3
Geforce 840m 2gb
intel hd4600
sata2 5400rpm hdd
Ps. My other laptop is way more older  than this and I have never had such crash issue with it.

Any help would be appreciated.

edit: Reinstalled the map, verified integrity of game files via Steam. No luck.
edit2: PC temperature is fine. I have a good external cooler underneath and temperature never reaching 65 Celsius while playing games.

Have you tried re-installing DirectX and your video drivers? Also make sure your PC is using your nVidia card and not the Intel one.

Problem with the game communicating with your display adapter. Make sure both are up-to-date and are stable.

I still have no solution but I figured one thing, it's happening only if I run the game in windowed mode. No problem in fullscreen. If anyone got a solution I'd like to know.
I used a "directx_Jun2010_redist" file thinking that maybe game requires some old dll
My drivers are up to date.
No luck.

No luck.

Installing some random DirectX update probably isn't going to fix your issue. If you really need to reinstall the DirectX components for World at War then run the setup included with the game - those are the actual components needed to run the game.

But honestly i don't think DirectX is the problem. It sounds like you have a bad display driver - which isn't uncommon if you install driver updates ontop of each other without doing a full clean install.

Just try uninstalling your current driver, restart, download & install fresh ones, and restart again and see if its fixed.

I did a manual-clean install for Nvidia drivers. But updated intel one on top of old one. Don't think intel one is problem they just share same buffers which is common dumb ass architecture present in nvidia optimus laptops.
So I solved my problem, I still play in windowed mode but had to turn off shadows. Not crashing now lol
