Hey all, I'm brand new here so bare with me. I have started a custom map with custom textures and suddenly have a funny red tint on one of my textures. The map has all of its reflection nodes setup and is entirely indoors so no sky box but there is a window with a glass texture on one of the brushes to see through to outside. I covered the outside with a black brush. The only reason I mention this is because the texture seemed to be OK until the addition of this windows area.

You can see the red tint in the doorways here and notice it only affects this texture and only certain areas of the brush.

If anyone can help I would really appreciate it!

Thanks All!

I sometimes had this issue when two brushes overlapped, avoided that ever since. Can't tell from your screenshot but this could be the issue.

When i had a similair issue i had added a colour to my world spawn settings. Check make sure you have not added a colour to your woirldspawn settings .

Wouldn't that tint everything red and not just particular areas?

Not necessarily , when i had it like that it was only areas that were dark that had the red tint , the map itself looked fine. I had changed the colour of a light and accidentally added it to worldspawn .

Probably needs light grid, also where did you place the reflection probes?

Hey all, Thanks for the responses. I have my reflection probes in various places throughout the map. I have made sure that there is one in each room and that the probe can see everything in the room. Also checked the theory that it may be overlapping brushes, i will keep you posted if anything here works. Thanks all!

Ok I think it is to do with overlapping brushes after all. I will finish fixing the problem and let you know how I did it for anyone else who experiences this issue.

Cheers Guys, enjoy your weekend!

Hey Guys, It seems the issue changes depending on my lighting and location of reflection probes. I have figured out that by cutting up my brushes I can create the same effect around the doorways without it disturbing the reflection probes. It seems that sometimes certain brushes placed directly over the top of others are having an effect on the reflection probes (im guessing). Anyway thanks for the help guys!
