I am looking for software, or a tut, so that I can take a picture of a face and flatten it out to use for the zombies or players faces.

I have tried this manually by pasting the picture and smearing the image, and it didn't come out so well. I'm not that illustratively literate either, just a heads up.

I believe you are trying to work in the wrong direction, usually you go off of the model and unwrap the 3d model into a 2d image of lines that the vertices connect. Then you texture it by hand. This process is usually called uv unwrapping, but can be quite difficult with object that are not distinct or in this case is a rounded object with lots of different points.

I've never personally heard of software that makes the image by flattening out a real image of a face.

Well that explains why it didn't come out very good then, lol. I figured all the zombies had the same model but they have different images so maybe there was something that did that. What I think I will try is to make one the same size and layout of one that exist already and try to blend them together, since I don't have the resources to do it the right way. Last time the blur/smudge thing didn't work too well, but maybe adjusting the opacity of them and then flattening the image out might. It doesn't have to be perfect, just somewhat look like the person.

Thanks for the replay.

It was recommended to me to use FaceGen

It seemed as if it would work, I created a 3d image of my face, but the free version won't export the files I need. :kidding: Anyway, if anyone wants to try it and has 300 bucks to burn, lol, let me know if it works!
