Hey guys, just about ready to share my map with a friend for testing and cannot see my custom textures in the map on his computer. How do I 'package' the textures with the map when using the UGX Installation Creator?

Cheers

The sound of God is the screech of tires, lights and magnets, bolts and wires. Strayed from the road, this very one, still to come. The sound of tires is the sound of God, the electric version.

"This is a small utility tool that will copy custom images used by your map to your mods folder."

This puts all the images into your mod folder, so when you use the install creator they will get put into it, and then other people can see your glorious textures!

Good luck on your map :)

Thanks for that, that's exactly what I was looking for. Is there a way I can just put the images there myself? I have found the IWI files that correspond with the images in my map, do I just put them into an images folder in the mod?

OK quick update. I tried the program you linked and it seems to work in that it transfer the image files into the mod folder but it still isnt using them on the other computer, still white blank texture in place of what I had used. Is there a particular order or method to compile the map and use this software?

Many Thanks for your time, I really appreciate the help

You can move your textures manually by creating a "maps" folder in your MODSNAME folder and copying the IWI files in there. Then you have to build your mod but making sure to have the images you added selected in the IWD file list. I'm not sure if you have to compile first, but try it anyway.

Hope it helps you. :)

Hey thanks. If I have understood correctly I'm putting the texture files into the maps folder which is in my mapname folder. So it looks like this

Cod root - mods - mapname - maps - texturename.iwi

I then compiled the mod and the map but still no textures. I must be doing something wrong.  :-[

You're making everything okay. I think the only thing you can be making wrong is it:
Did you make sure to check everything?
When you build your mod it should look like this:

All the images checked and Build mod .ff Fastfile and Build IWD checked too.

no

Cod root - mods - mapname - "images" - texturename.iwi

uses the same file tree as "raw" does

Harry Bo21 - I have now placed the images into the appropriate directory and will test the map later today and keep you posted on if it works!
