I haven't bought Destiny yet as I didn't want to give into the hype machine and just buy a game because Bungie/Activision told me to. I really like the Halo games for their combat and beautiful level design.  And I do like the idea of leveling my character like the Borderlands series. So, my question to those of you who have played it is, is this game a good combination of FPS & RPG elements or not really? And if not, who is it really designed to appeal to?

Having owned it since day one, I must admit to loving Destiny. The campaign is extremely short and unfulfilling and not even that easy to understand but the game itself is a hell of a lot of fun to play.

The map design is beautiful, with such attention to detail and jaw dropping verticallity on show. You really have to admire the work they put into the different planets you can explore and the balance on offer is nigh on perfect.

My only gripe with the game is that you will be lucky to get 2 solid months out of it before it completely wears thin, and I cannot see DLC changing that unless each one has a dramatic shift in gameplay style.

Well worth the purchase, but hardly the game it is hyped up to be.
