Lol you're comparing YouTube's servers to ours. We aren't as rich as YouTube so you get the best we have to offer. Sometimes our servers are fast and sometimes they aren't. We may upgrade them soon.

That's very interesting, I didn't know Google provided a psuedo cloud hosting service through Drive. We are still working on determining if we can afford a CDN or if we can only afford to have 2-3 servers in planned locations (US/EU/??) and let people choose it themselves.

CDNs are obviously the best choice but they are also the most expensive, especially when you go through 10-20TB of bandwidth per month like we do - and that's with only the limited selection of Map Manager downloads that we have. Once the Launcher gets released and all new/old maps are hosted on our servers it's probably going to double or triple that bandwidth.

Google Drive and co are useless. Wrong target group here
(Cloudstorage is useless, limits and co and expensive price)

Also people complain about a free service and compare it with a service ran by a company with hundres of employees / experts.

I constantly try to improve the experience but I'm not a magician and we / I don't get payed for our hard work so lower your standards, it's more involved than a simple "download here" button >,>

UGX Requiem is currently V1.1 because there were some issues with the V1.2. I'll take a look at the topic.

The EU server was provided as a courtesy from Delta but he no longer has the resources to keep it up, so we only have the US server right now unfortunately. 

this is frustrating, i've been trying to use the map manager, but its not working, saying i need either the network thing, or the firewall is messing with it, i checked both possibilities, but neither are the problem, i have no idea whats happening

I can assure you the Map Manager is still operational, but the internet connection will only work if it is allowed through ALL firewalls on the machine. Sometimes people have both a 3rd party firewall (norton, avast, mcaffee, etc) AND the windows firewall active at the same time. it needs to be allowed through all of them.

It is definitely a picky program which is why we aimed to replace it with the UGX Launcher, but development has been at a standstill for quite a while unfortunately with no ETA.

u can use a different browser to download it

Literally logging in for the first time in probably like 5 or 6 years to say that I'm so happy you guys are still out here supporting this tool. Looking forward to basking in the nostalgia later today!
