It was based on Tower Defense, not Last Stand. If you want the proof, here it is... from the creator of the game-mode itself.

Yeh it seems you're right. Also I've read this article before (must read IMO for any zombie fan) and if you look through the comments, you can find the origins of perks and PAP in there...

Yes, one of his work mates mentioned Last Stand, not Jess, the guy who masterminded it. He based it on Tower Defence, as he states. Inspiration may have been taken from LS but Jess originally wanted to do a TD style game.

Either way, it leans on both so it's six and half a dozen.

well anyway i knew i had heard this somewhere. but anyway no more posts about this, we are kinda derailing the zombie map into an arguement of whether the chicken came before the egg. this could go on for hours. so lets just stop it here.

I was looking for that before, I found a whole interview with them somewhere but couldnt find it again

ah yes... prob amoungst 10 other games while talking about the tower defence "genre", and gave that as a example "of" that genre, as the other guy hadnt heard of it at all. Then the next paragraph reads a whole list of things they saw as negative about it ( to start with, in that same paragraph it says if the windows are breached your toast. Not really respective of nazi zombies... )

Ive heard so many theories on this, its a genre, not based on any one game....

Theres literally hundreds of "tower defence" games that predate that little flash game... the flash game that was prob based on other "tower defence" games to start with...

This whole subject just reminds me of everyone going mad about AW, saying it was a rip off of titanfall

When A - titanfall came after halo, and many other games with verticality / parkour movement ( Brink being one such game )

B - Both games were in development at the same time - how do you copy something thats not out at the time

C - an aspect of a movement or genre, does not immediately mean "oh they copied" - and in this case, its merely using the powers newer consoles can now provide. Not doing it would be silly and limiting yourself

This next update will ake about 1-3 weeks. im adding path ways too the tunnels and adding mazes too the safe houses.  ive decided too make the easter egg a little more last stand based. you will have too search for supplies around the area. but too put my own twist on it, the safe houses will be protected by various puzzles, mazes, and riddles.

Okay here are some images of the inside of the office building next too the silos. I went a little too fancy and made it look like a nice hotel.  :P The tunnels and mazes are half way done. ill have images of those as soon as i have prettied them up a bit.

I am still working on this map, I have just been playing around with the FX editor and making the wonder weapn(Fucking hate Stocks)

But i have made some progress on the map iself, i have added some lights and expanded a few rooms of the house. and i have also added a few prefabs that i made too the silos/factory/hotel(i might move these apart and make them separate areas entirely) area.

yeah i'm looking for a decent looking "seamless" textures for the ceiling and walls. until then it will have too stay as that checkerboard thing.
