hello, does anyone know how to have an fx play by trigger? I have this little beam effect on my map and I want it to appear only when its been triggered or the power get turned on.  :-\

hello, does anyone know how to have an fx play by trigger? I have this little beam effect on my map and I want it to appear only when its been triggered or the power get turned on.  :-\

The only way you can do this is with a script, the PlayFX function will work fine for what you want to do.

I would advise learning basic scripting before doing stuff with triggers since all that stuff is controlled from scripts not in radiant.

Thanks for the reply, do you know a good place where I can start learning to make scripts? I kinda have basic knowledge in C++. I was searching for some black ops 3 scripting tutorials or even cod waw tutorials but couldn't find any.

If you have some knowledge in c++ you will be relieved to know this is much simpler than c++ since there is no memory management or anything like that, just pretty straight forward scripting.

These tutorials are quite old but gsc still follows the same basics: Link

Treyarch also included a function reference along with the mod tools, this is located in: root/docs_modtools then open bo3_scriptapifunctions.htm

Also if you check the ugx wiki there are some good script tutorials for bo3(You can also use the waw ones, not much has changed aside from functions)
