Hello. So I've been asking around if anyone knows why this issue has been happening, but nothing seems to work.

Basically I've been getting an error of 1600 loaded sounds limit, so I did what everyone said to do: Put # in front of any sounds you don't need in your map's .csv like this:



I check in the asset counter and it says I have 1299 loaded sounds:



I then compile my map, and I get these errors:



I think these errors have something to do with the problem. Anyways, I go back after compiling and put my map back into asset counter and BOOM my sounds are back up again to 1434:



Once I can fix it I can FINALLY (hopefully) release my map after a few tweaks. Thanks in advance  :)

we say to put # infront of the sounds in

raw/soundaliases/weapons.csv

and other csvs in that folder

not mapname.gsc

also, if your using any ffs ( m perks, zombie packs etc ) theres a chance sounds are compiled in there, therefore will not be in the asset count

We usually remove just about everything in there

bare in mind you need to also recompile the map, not just build the mod, for these changes to take effect

EDIT - doesnt asset counter use "FF" files? Not csv?

It works for Csv, but remember that I'm ONLY using WaW weapons. And I compile my map with everything but "Compile Vis" and "Run Game after compile" checked So anything else I can use?

what limit are you hitting? Sound limit? Memory limit?

Wait i see, sound limit

Most sounds are loaded from that file, or dlc_share, or dlc_vox

but you should not be hitting this limit, if your only using stock guns anyway

must be going wrong somewhere

I cant see the images you posted tho, when i get home ill look again

I did do the scripting manually. Is it possible that this was caused by an error in my scripting? Should I just use the pre-edited stock scripts?

then you are missing one

and again, should only drag "FF" files onto asset counter, not "CSV" files as far as im aware - however its been some time since ive used it myself

to start with nazi_zombie_mapname.ff

Im assuming from this, your using my perks, in qhich case, you also need to drag on the loaclized_MAPNAME.ff i included, as that has a load of sounds included in it ( player quotes, sound effects, perk jingles etc )

For dragging the FF files into the asset counter, it says "File does not have the correct extension for assetlist! (*.csv or *.acpreset)"

Also What csv's should I throw into it?

What I did to install your perks: I downloaded your new compressed localized FF that is 24.6 MB. I put that into my root/mods/MAPNAME folder. Then I manually did the scripting in your post. Then I downloaded the full package.
I left the "If you want the UGX stuff" folder untouched because I didn't want it.  I Put the "Perks and PaP" folder into root/map_source. Inside the third folder (mods) I put the "harrybo21_perks.iwd" into my root/mods/mapname folder. (I did not touch the localized ff because I already installed the compressed version.) Then inside the maps folder I put all 6 gsc into my root/mods/mapname/maps folder. I did NOT touch the preedited stock scripts (sad I didn't know about them until I installed it.) Finally, I did not touch the text documents, 400fx fix (because it removes WaW weapons), or custom shaders.

And that's what I've done to install the perks. EXACTLY.

Sadly at this point IDK what to do, because I've removed A LOT of quotes from the dlc3_vox.csv in the soundaliases folder and it still doesn't work. ;-;

I remember having these issues back when i was new, felt like nothing had an effect

well, be gladto know it sounds like you installed the perks correctly, it also sounds like your removing sounds correctly. So Im not sure why it wouldnt be working out for you

Also sounds like i was wrong about the asset counter lol

Anyways, before I do any of this skype stuff, I just want to attempt to remove as many sounds as possible (up to like 500.) First of all, do I use CSVs in raw/soundaliases or zone_source? Also What CSVs can I comment out?

the zonesource files call the "other" csv files

so to remove a "part" of a sounalias csv, you would go to the soundalias csv. If you wanted to disinclude the entire csv, you would go to the zone source file thats loading it, and either comment or remove it entirely "from" the file thats calling it

if you go to zone_source, and find your nazi_zombie_map name.csv, youll see the weapons.csv line near the top, alongside the dlc_share ones etc

further below you will see some fx and weapons being loaded. These are the same type of files that the mod.csv is, but this one is compiled when you compile the "map", the patch one is compiled when you compile your patch, mod.csv is compiled when you build the mod

I was going off memory, might be in _patch

its gotta be somewhere otherwise i garuntee you would have no error ( and no sound  :D )

Basically how we solved this was we took a weapons.csv file, commented EVERYTHING out, and put it in the sound aliases folder. Then once the map worked, I uncommented ONLY the weapons on my map. A few extra things were done but they are not relevant to this. Huge thanks to Harrybo for putting up with my noobiness  :D
