How do i make a texture appear shiny without specular maps on? i have pretty much what i want when spec maps are on but the perk machines look terrible with spec maps on.

use a cosine powermap as described in this tut

Did you compile the texture with legacy encoding on?

You can't, try to find a way of fixing the perk-machines instead.
btw, do you mean the stock machines or the BO1 and 2 machines?
